epic givenchy campaign

Photobucket

Looking @ the Givenchy Fall 2010 ad campaign, I had the thought...

Do I love Givenchy??
I realized this much like LP realized she loves Nicole Kidman. Kind of evaluating that you love and admire the things they've done but never really put it all together.

until just now!
I'll have to post about this next time, lovely

Paris Fashion Week

just a couple looks from Lanvin, Yves Saint Laurent, Miu Miu and Chloe

loved the ladylike coats at Lanvin, they look so cozy.

this muddy brown is perfect for autumn

The color at Yves Saint Laurent was very refreshing

I love the breezy cape details of the purple dress, and the yellow frock is the perfect length

Miu Miu was swingin sixties and I dig it!

AMAZING black coat...love the length, scallop details and a big floppy BOW! a funnel neck coat is totally necessary in frigid temps

miumiu2
not as perfect as the first coat but this is a great shorter length option

Chloe was a sea of menswear-inspired beige but the dresses were lovely
chloe1
I love the milimalism of this, and the camel color. The neckline gives that hint of sex appeal

chloe3
YES to this color combination...even Jacquelyn Jablonski's hair color is perfect for this look.

The seams, piping and asymmetric pocket make it anything but boring. The slit again gives a little sex appeal.

note to self: next season, tie a freaking bow around your coat collar. I smell a trend!

can't resist the power of sui

this is quickly becoming an Anna Sui tribute page...but I just can't pass up her A/W '10 show. The review pretty much says it all:
But if the mood of these clothes was vintage bordering on antique, the overall impression was curiously un-retro. That's because Sui, who once worked as Steven Meisel's stylist, knows how to weigh the whimsy: a flat boot, a big cable-knit cardie, or a fur bolero helped to make her most hippie-princess looks real-world-ready. And, because the backroom boys and girls don't always get their due, it's past time to credit Pat McGrath's makeup, Garren's hair, and Frederic Sanchez's music. At some point in the future, those elements will all be part of the most wonderful museum exhibition on New York's most underrated designer

YES YES YES, I agree completely with muse Karen Elson and godfather Tim Gunn

Anna does some of the best tights and accessories around, and these are no exception. Love the printed tights and tooled leather satchel

MOUNTAIN PRINT TWINSET! FILMY LACE SKIRT! AGAIN WITH THE AMAZING TIGHTS!

so good

love the little leopard jacket and knit cap. and that print is so FUNKY...<3 src="http://i877.photobucket.com/albums/ab333/scoon86/SUIFURSWIMMERS.jpg">
lovely floral dress paired with what can only be described as furry swim floaties

you're a kook, Sui, and I like it

celestial tights and black brogues make me happy

I love the faded segments of this print, which matches the tights perfectly

The colors of this snakeskin are great, kinda reminds me of the McQueen alien goddess snakeskin-y dresses

cuz ya know, sometimes you want light blue furry floaters. perfect cream lace and LOVE the "nosegay" accessory

I'm loving this color for velvet, just like the buttery Fetherston blazer...mmmm velvet

flappery drop-waist and gold sequins=ultimate party girl

love ya grrrl!

let's try this again

After an 8 month(?!) break between my first blog entry and second blog entry, it's safe to say I failed. But this was never going to be an important, daily thing for me...just a place to post nice pictures and share whatever I feel necessary to share.

So here we go again

Browsing through the latest NYFW shows, I'm noticing how "springy" the fall/winter clothes have been. Or maybe that's just me projecting my impatience with spring weather...it should be coming soon right? no? it's still early February? FINE

but anyway...loved Erin Fetherston...she designs clothes I would want to wear if my life was one big lovely tea party. why is this not the case? I'm still not over the jeweled animal masks worn as fascinators in her FW09 show. And I maintain that they are a perfectly acceptable DIY project...I just need to get my head in the game (and locating a delicate, non-cartoon animal mask would help)

how cute are these??

Katy Perry knows what I'm talkin about

ANDuuuummmm yah know, EF just HAD to throw an owl mask in there, as if I wasn't sufficiently obsessed

Incidentally, this look fits in with a "bridal" post I've been considering...kind of as a belated tribute to McQueen since he designed my ultimate bridal gown :( rip

onnnnn to the point of this post

I don't think I could love that top any more...the type of lace is perfect, I love a good stripe, and the potential nip-slip situation isn't anything a nude cami can't handle

LOVE this color. springy right? I also feel compelled to get blunt, longer bangs. I dunno if I could pull that off tho...I dunno how I feel about those bang "extensions" that you just clip in the front of your head. If my bang envy continues to grow I might just have to check them out. Dammit

LOVING the velvet blazer in this shell pink/peachy color...so unexpected. Does this not look like the spring version of the ubiquitous black velvet blazer everyone loves this winter? Did the designers get their seasons twisted? No matter, I need it. The pants in this same peachy velvet material? Not so sure
I love the icy greenish silver dress too

GLAM ROCK tea party!

I could wear this daily and be happy. Because it's black, which of course I love, but ethereal and delicate at the same time...and again, sweet 90's bangs
edit: MIGHT the models be wearing said clip-in bangs? this last set o' bangs looks a bit...off. and shinier than the rest of her hair. if EF comes out with her own line of clip-in bangs I'll be horrified then order 2

I think that is all for now...gotta get up early
can't WAIT to attack NYFW beauty! the only con here is it will inevitably lead to a list of "must-have products"...not good for the bottom line
